Best Marriott Hotels by Brand and Budget in 2024

I’m thrilled to kick off this newsletter and share the best Marriott deals, hotels, and days to use your Bonvoy points. Let’s dive in!

Did you know Marriott has a massive worldwide network of nearly 9,000 hotels?! With so many properties to choose from, there’s no easy way to search Marriott.com and see how they stack up against each other.

So what are the best Marriott hotels that fit your style and budget??

It’s a fantastic question, and for my first BonvoyGeek post, it’s the first question we’ll answer!

To start, I looked at all Marriott properties and organized them by number of properties, budget tier, and guest ratings as of January 2024. You can see my findings in the visual below.

As you may know, Marriott’s 4 budget tiers are Luxury, Premium, Select, and Longer Stay. The most expensive tier is Luxury, with the least expensive Select and Longer Stay tiers. In the chart above, I’ve grouped all 35 brands by their budget tier and sorted by the average guest ratings as of January 2024. Importantly, some brands like Bulgari, Design Hotels, and most Vacation Clubs do not have ratings.

…And now for the winners!

In the Luxury category, the Luxury Collection just edges out the competition with a 4.48 average guest rating across 118 properties. The top property is the new North Island, a Luxury Collection Resort, Seychelles property with a perfect 5-star rating (with 2 reviews).

Since the North Island property is so new, it’s worth highlighting the highest-rated established property is the Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Budapest with 4.9 stars and 204 guest reviews.

In the Premium category, the Autograph Collection is the clear winner with a 4.32 average guest rating across 315 properties. The top property is the new Orient Occident Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection property with a perfect 5-star rating (with 4 reviews).

Since the Orient Occident property is so new, I’ll also mention the highest-rated established property is the Bankside Hotel, Autograph Collection in England with 4.9 stars and 581 guest reviews.

In the Select category, the Fairfield Inn & Suites earns top honors with a 4.25 average guest rating across a whopping 1,323 properties. The top property is the brand new Fairfield Inn & Suites Airdrie in Alberta property with a perfect 5-star rating (with 4 reviews).

Since the Fairfield Inn & Suites Airdrie property is so new, the highest-rated established property is the Fairfield Inn & Suites Laurel in Montana with 4.9 stars and 72 guest reviews.

In the Select category, the Marriott Executive Apartments are the clear winner with a 4.45 average guest rating across a whopping 42 properties. Interestingly, the Marriott Executive Apartments are all based outside of the United States. Because these are longer-stay properties, I won’t highlight the top properties in this update but if you’d like to see those, ping me and I’d be happy to profile them in a future update.
