Weekly Points Deals: Top 30 Autograph Collection properties
Hi Bonvoyagers!
I often write about deals at Marriott Luxury properties, and several readers asked if I could also find deals at Marriott Premium properties. The quick answer is of course!
Marriott has 14 brands in the Premium tier, so this week I’ll dive into the Autograph Collection. With 315 properties and an average 4.3 guest rating, the Autograph Collection is the best-rated Premium tier brand.
One of the main benefits of choosing an Autograph property is exclusivity at more affordable rates. Most Autograph properties have 100 rooms or less and the average points redemption is only 42,000 points/night. That’s 34% less than the 64,000 average points/night at Marriott Luxury properties.
In today’s post, I’ll highlight the top 30 Points deals, and tomorrow I’ll highlight the top 30 Cash deals.
As you can see in the visual below, the best points discount I found was 57% savings, while the average across all properties was 42%. Remember, if you see a deal you like, book now because rates change frequently, and you can always cancel for free!
One of the most captivating finds is the brand new Leopard Sands, Kruger Park property in South Africa. This hotel is perched above the Sabie River and has sweeping views of Kruger National Park. Typically requiring 116,000 points/night, you can book for 96,000 points/night from Jun-Oct, and Dec-Feb - a 17% savings. While 96,000 points/night is more than double the average for Autograph hotels, this property is a minimum of $713/night, so your $$ per point of $0.007 is in line with the Marriott average.
Another stunning property is the 4.8-star Amarterra Villas Resort Bali Nusa Dua in Indonesia. With 42 private-pool villas ranging from one to three bedrooms, this is one of the best points deals I’ve ever seen. Often as high as 50,000/night, you can book for as low as 32,800/night this month - a 34% discount. If that’s too soon, you can also book for 37,000/night in Dec 2024 and Jan-Feb 2025. I’d highly recommend taking a closer look at this incredible property.
If you’re considering a vacation to Hawaii, two properties made my top 30 list - the 4.7-star Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu on Kauai and the 4.6-star Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on the Big Island. Be advised the Mauna Kea is starting a $180M renovation on April 15 so the 28% discount comes with some tradeoffs.
I’ve stayed at the Koloa Landing and it’s a wonderful experience, particularly if you have kids. The suites are great for families and the pool is one of the best in Hawaii. Often as high as 98,000 points/night, you can stay at the Koloa Landing for 74,000 points/night in December!
If you’re looking for an enchanting historical experience, the 4.8-star The Ivens in Lisbon, Portugal is one of the most immaculate Autograph properties I’ve seen. The bar is remarkably eclectic. Typically 76,000 points/night, you can book for as low as 58,000 points/night in January or 59,000 points/night in February 2025.
Along the same lines, Istanbul is an iconic worldly destination with some fantastic deals. The most established property is the 4.9-star Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, where you can stay for 27,000 points/night in January, a 41% discount. The 4.6-star Burdock Hotel Istanbul has 20,000 points/night options in April, and November 2024-Feburary 2025, a 49% discount.
The newest property is the 5-star Orient Occident Hotel Istanbul. This stylish boutique hotel is often as high as 42,000 points/night, but you can stay for as low as 22,000 points/night in January 2025.
If you’re looking for a last-minute getaway to the Bahamas, the 4.8-star French Leave Resort is bookable this month for 76,000 points/night - a 34% discount. If that’s too soon, you can find great rates for 78,000 points/night in August-November. This property averages $885/night, so you’re getting a fantastic $$ per point value of $0.01 - 42% higher than the Marriott average!
Rounding out my highlights, the tropical 4.6-star Punta Islita in Costa Rica has compelling 45% savings if you book in May, September, or October. During those months you can book for 40,000 points/night, a steep discount to the more typical 73,000 points/night. If you’re new to Costa Rica, be aware that May-November is typically the rainy season - though the hotel is located in the drier region of Guanacaste. If you’re concerned about rain, you can still get great deals in November and December for 44,000 points/night!
I hope this helps guide your next stay with Marriott and perhaps discover some new destinations to visit!
Bon Voyage!
